Set Apart – Day 2

Hello and welcome! This is the Geeks Under Grace daily devotional where we dive into the Bible everyday. We take devotionals from and read the verses, devotional, and give our own commentary. Sometimes we will have multiple writers, but most of the time it will be just me. I hope you enjoy and comment with your own commentary.
This devotional is titled “Set Apart”. It is only 3 days long. I use the ESV bible but feel free to use the version of your choosing.

2 Timothy 1:9
“who saved us and called us to a holy calling, not because of our works but because of his own purpose and grace, which he gave us in Christ Jesus before the ages began”
Romans 12:2
“Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.”

A lot of people say they’re Christians, but not all of them live that way. They talk the talk but they don’t walk the walk.
Would you say people know that you’re a Christian just because you say it or do they know it because you live it? To be holy is to live your life set apart in such a way that people can tell there’s something different about you even without you telling them.
As Christians, we shouldn’t be doing what everyone else is doing. We shouldn’t just conform to what’s normal.
When everyone’s talking trash about someone, you choose to be their one and only friend. When others are sleeping with their boyfriend or girlfriend, you choose to wait for the person you’re going to marry. When people you know are making crude jokes or comments, you choose not to be a part of it.
Choose to live your life set apart for God. Be different in a good way. Choose to love better than anyone else. Choose to live your life with more joy, excitement, and contentment than everyone else. Choose to be someone who is known by what you’re for rather than complaining all the time.
So what ways do you need to start living a life set apart?
When you start to live your life holy, set apart from everyone else, people will start to take notice and will want what you have.

Our actions reflect our hearts and what we put into ourselves. If you porn into you then you will begin to see women in a way that you shouldn’t. Certain words and ideas will come out of your mouth and flow through your head if you watch garbage movies, TV shows, and listen to garbage music. Garbage only reaps garbage, no matter how “good the message was”. I find being asked why I do things differently to be a sign that my actions reflect what I say I believe. I don’t want to be a Christian Atheist who is all talk and no walk. That is how you turn others away from following Christ.
If you want to read more about how to be different then I recommend the book Weird by Craig Groeschel.
