Super Mario Run, the Mario themed endless runner from Nintendo, will be released on December 15 for iOS devices, Nintendo announced last week.
Players will be able to download the platformer/auto-runner from the App Store for free to try out the game’s three modes. After that, the full game can be unlocked for $9.99 USD. While that price is a bit steep the recent trailers for the game revealed several modes and mechanics that look to distance Super Mario Run from other run-of-the-mill (no pun intended) endless runners on the App Store. Super Mario Run will work on iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch devices running iOS 8.0 or later.
While no release date was given for when the game might land on Android devices, Nintendo has confirmed that the game will release on Android at some point in the future.
