Telltale Games, the developer of hit adventure series The Walking Dead:The Game Season 1 and 2, has announced via Twitter that Season 3 of The Walking Dead will not premiere this year.
Despite this upsetting news for fans of the series, Telltale did leave a spark of hope with the tease that more content for The Walking Dead:The Game may still find it’s way into gamers’ hands by year’s end.
While it is uncertain if this will be a spin-off series of the game or another 400 Days style episode, it is clear that something related to Telltale’s The Walking Dead will be revealed soon based on this comment on Twitter from one of the developer’s working on the game.
Telltale is currently working on its two ongoing adventure games, Game of Thrones and Tales From the Borderlands, and recently partnered with Lionsgate to work on future episodic games as well as starting development of its “Super Show”, a project described as a cross between a television show and a video game. Telltale is also involved with the upcoming Minecraft:Story Mode and recently announced plans to develop a game set in the Marvel Comics universe.
