WWE’s history is a long and somewhat complicated one. The company has put together thousands of live events around the globe, featuring an incredible number of talent, in front of countless crowds of people. Today, I name just four that we would love to see return to a WWE ring.
Ted Dibiase Jr.
1. Ted Dibiase Jr.
I admit, I am a bit biased towards Dibiase Jr. A former Million Dollar champion and World Tag Team champion, Dibiase is a favorite of mine based on the fact that we have a shared faith. He is not too shy to share his beliefs online and his father, the Million Dollar Man, Ted Dibiase, is an ordained minister. Setting personal lives aside, Ted was a fine in-ring performer. Currently, his former tag team members Randy Orton and Cody Rhodes (AKA Stardust) are going strong in WWE, and I know I would like to see Dibiase come back and work with Rhodes, perhaps for one last program.
2. Kurt Angle
Rumor has it the former Olympic Gold Medalist is not healthy enough to compete in a WWE ring. At this point, Kurt Angle has worked for Impact Wrestling (AKA TNA) longer than he ever worked for WWE, and it does not look likely he will ever return to work for Vince McMahon. However, I refuse to give up on the possibilities, as we have learned in this business again and again to never say “never.” Angle may not be fit to compete, but how can a man with so much natural talent and learned skill not be featured on cable TV? Use Kurt in a managerial role or commentary or something! One More Match!? Come on!
Rob Van Dam
3. Rob Van Dam
Sure, we just recently saw Rob Van Dam in a WWE ring last year, but I believe the interest is still there. Like Kurt Angle, Van Dam has a ton of natural talent. Much to WWE’s credit, they are doing a lot to restore value in the United States and Intercontinental Championships. John Cena has made the US title relevant again, and Daniel Bryan was due to do the same for the IC Championship. I would love to see Rob Van Dam come back with a clear goal to compete for, and win the Intercontinental Championship against, perhaps, Adrian Neville.
Mercury, Melina & Morisson
OK, so sure: Mercury, Melina, and Morisson are three WWE Superstars, not one, but they are a tag team with a manager–a complete set! Currently, Joey Mercury is a member of the J&J security force with Jamie Noble, but it’s time to bring back John Morisson (formerly Johnny Nitro) and the beautiful Melina to contend for the WWE World Tag Team Championships. Why not have MNM return to face NXT talents Enzo Amore, “Big Cass” Colin Cassidy, and Carmella? That’d be a dream come true.
Would MNM’s return to the ring in NXT cause you to subscribe to the WWE Network? Can Kurt Angle ever come back? Comment below and join the conversation!
