Netflix and Nintendo making Live Action Legend of Zelda Series

Zelda

“Well excuse me, Princess!”

The above was the iconic line from the last Legend of Zelda cartoon series of the 80’s, long forgotten to many. However,  according to Wall Street Journal reporter, Ben Fritz, Nintendo and Netflix have proposed to make a live action Legend of Zelda series. No writers have been hired yet and the project has many hurdles before it goes to production, but reports say that the show will be in the style of Game of Thrones, minus the gratuitous violence and nudity. This is starting to sound like a the ultimate Zelda fanfic.

This brings up some good questions. Is Nintendo changing the way it markets its franchises? Can Netflix deliver on all the expectations of a Legend of Zelda series?  Will we finally understand why Link needs metal boots to sink to the bottom of the sea, but floats to the top when he puts the same metal boots in his backpack?

In light of Nintendo’s WiiU having shaky sales and the new Nintendo project being rumored, this makes me wonder if Nintendo is seeking new ways to entertain the masses. Perhaps this is just a way to reward all the patient gamers who stuck behind Nintendo.

I personally think that Zelda Williams should be the actress who plays as Princess Zelda, I mean after all she was named after Zelda in the Legend of Zelda Series, and she looks the part for the series.
