WWE Money in the Bank (2015) Predictions

Welcome to Geeks Under Grace’s predictions of WWE’s Money in the Bank

WWE’s 2015 Money in the Bank comes to us from Columbus, Ohio, on Sunday, June 14th. WWE’s biggest stars are scheduled to appear as Roman Reigns competes for the Money in the Bank briefcase. John Cena will compete against NXT Champion Kevin Owens once more, and Seth Rollins will work to retain his championship as he wrestles Dean Ambrose. I, Steven, am joined by fellow Geeks Under Grace contributor Derrick Cannon. Now let’s get ready to check out some WWE Money in the Bank Predictions!
R Truth vs. King Barrett

It is surprising to me that King Barrett was not picked to be in this year’s Money in the Bank contest. His King of the Ring victory should have signaled a rejuvenation of significance for Barrett’s career. R Truth is a solid roleplayer and is known for making his opponents look excellent. R Truth is in the latter stages of his career, whereas I feel Barrett is just about to hit his peak.  Barrett needs a dominant victory, and this match should give him exactly that.
Winner: King Barrett

Steven K.

In my opinion, Wade, Bad News King Barrett should be a lock as the winner in this contest. I do not see a real push for R-Truth coming any time soon. Now, sure, what does it say about Barrett’s career to be in the pre-show match? King Barrett will walk away the winner of this match, and I will continue to hope the writers do their job and write a program for him. According to R-Truth, he is supposed to be in the Money in the Bank match, so he may not even show up.
Winner: King Barrett
Nikki Bella vs. Paige

The destruction and ruin of the Bella Twins begins here. Paige has threatened to go to any length to change image of the WWE Diva even if it takes the Bellas out of the picture. Paige might not get the win over Nikki at the Money in the Bank event for that exact reason. A SummerSlam program with the Bellas career on the line would bring great interest for the Divas rematch at the second biggest event of the year. Nikki picks up the win here to continue her rivalry with Paige.
Winner: Nikki Bella

Steven K.

Nikki has to lose eventually.
Winner: Paige
Big show vs. Ryback

Ryback’s first feud after winning his first title needs to continue with a statement victory in Ryback’s first big event defense. Big Show winning here would pretty much make the events of the previous Elimination Chamber meaningless. Big Show should be looked at as a threat during the match, but ultimately needs to lose the war. It would be incredible if the match ended via shellshock from the Big Guy to the Big Show.
Winner: Ryback

Steven K.

I am very satisfied with this booking decision! This is where the legendary, ring veteran Big Show should be. Big Show should be working with young superstars in the midcard, as Show brings a unique attention to every match he is in. Leave the world title picture to the future of the WWE in Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns, but keep established names Kane, Big Show, and Mark Henry competing against new, fresh talent.
Winner: Ryback
The New Day vs. The Prime Time Players

The New Day have been a true credit to the tag team division since their heel turn. That said I feel that to truly bring credibility back to the Prime Time Players, a win here is necessary. The Prime Time Players are currently returning to relevance, so a loss here could derail their current progress. The New Day should not, in any sense, look bad in defeat and should lose in a way where it would be easy to see a rematch in the making at the next WWE event.
Winner: The Prime Time Players

Steven K.

The New Day alone is a true asset to the WWE. However ,The New Day needs an established nemesis and I don’t think we have seen that yet. Now, I personally don’t have any love for the Prime Time Players, and I see them as stepping stones for New Day. What we need is a 3-man team that comes together with the sole purpose of putting The New Day down.
Winner: The New Day
John Cena vs. Kevin Owens

John Cena vs. Kevin Owens

John Cena vs. Kevin Owens

All initial fears of Kevin Owens not getting a chance to shine on the WWE stage should have been dashed by his NXT title victory, or at the very least by his star-making victory over Cena at Elimination Chamber. John Cena himself could dash a few images if his feud with Owens continues the pace that it is on. John Cena has long been considered a hindrance to the careers of his opponents. Cena’s feud with Owens is doing the complete opposite. Owens is proving to be one of the biggest threats to the leader of the C Nation and is coming out better for it. John Cena has been incredibly valuable for the prestige of the US title, which could be defended should the two face off again. Kevin Owens gained the first victory in their rivalry, so I fully expect John Cena to pull off a last second victory after Owens takes him to the limit.
Winner: John Cena

Steven K.

Elimination Chambers John Cena vs. Kevin Owens was a major disappointment to me. About halfway through their last match, I was ready to log out of the WWE Network. Perhaps, though, this match will deliver this time. Perhaps John Cena’s attitude adjustment will actually have an effect on Kevin Owens. Maybe, just maybe, someone will actually sell a move. Well… probably not. OK, so the match did not go the way I hoped it would, but the rivalry here is awesome. I am excited to see how this program progresses. Owens is not interested in the United States Championship, and Cena does not appear to want the NXT title. As we move on to the next portion of this rivalry, Cena wins here.
Winner: John Cena
Neville vs. Sheamus vs. Randy Orton vs. Roman Reigns vs. Kane vs. Dolph Ziggler vs. Kofi Kingston

Neville vs. Sheamus vs. Randy Orton vs. Roman Reigns vs. Kane vs. Dolph Ziggler vs. Kofi Kingston

Derrick C.

I fully expect this to be a fun and energetic Money in the Bank Ladder match. Dolph Ziggler, Neville, and Kofi Kingston should provide quite a few highlight reel moments and possibly come close at key moments to grabbing the brief case. Sheamus and Kane will provide sheer brute force, and Kane is a possible dark horse candidate to repeat his 2010 victory. I feel that the match will be won by either Reigns or Orton, but, given recent events, I think that the match will culminate with the start of the Roman Empire. Reigns cashing in on Seth Rollins later in the evening, should Rollins come out victorious over Ambrose, would be sweet vindication for Reigns.
Winner: Roman Reigns

Steven K.

Oh, this is exciting. Now, sure, we can all simply accept Reigns will win this match (and he will), but for fun imagine the possibilities! What if Neville won? What if Sheamus won? Kofi is a fantastic addition to this match, just because of his incredible in-ring athletic abilities. I am personally not counting Randy Orton out. The Money in the Bank briefcase is an awesome concept when you think about it. The MITB briefcase contains a contract that can be used by the MITB match winner at any point to compete for a world title for an entire year. Roman Reigns with that briefcase will only add interest to upcoming WWE events.
Winner: Roman Reigns
Seth Rollins vs. Dean Ambrose

Dean Ambrose has become a force to be reckoned with in the main event picture. I’m beginning to think that the Shield duplicating the success of Evolution is possible, and all three men could ultimately have a chance to claim world championships. I still think that it could be a few months down the road for Ambrose to gain the prize. It is likely that Seth Rollins emerges victorious, but Dean will not stop trying to take down the Authority during the months ahead. If Roman Reigns wins Money in the Bank, things could get truly compelling between the three former members of the shield.
Winner: Seth Rollins

Steven K.

What can I say? I just dont think Dean Ambrose is what is “Best for Business”
Winner: Seth Rollins
